The women soldiers of the Caracal battalion killed 100 Hamas men

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have a woman’s touch as, as the Jerusalem Post reports, the Caracal Battalion boasts that, so far, it has eliminated at least 100 Hamas terrorists.

Lieutenant Colonel Ben Yehuda, the battalion’s commander, praised the troops, especially the women, for their bravery and heroism.

As reported by the Jerusalem Post, the commander of this unit recounts her experience in the southern Gaza Strip, where her battalion wiped out some 100 terrorists from the Palestinian Sunni organization. She also sends a clear message to all those who doubt the capabilities of the female fighters of ‘Caracal’.

As the attack began in the Gaza border area, as Ben Yehuda recounts, she quickly left the headquarters of the “Nahal Raviv” battalion for a location on the Egyptian border where there were armored personnel carriers. Rockets were raining down and there was terrorist infiltration in the towns of Shlomit and Bnei Netzer.

In the midst of this chaos, she says, she received a message from Lieutenant Colonel Yonatan Tzur, commander of the Nahal Brigade patrol battalion, who a few hours later was killed by terrorist gunfire.

He was quick to mention the infiltration of terrorists near the Sufa and Nirim areas, noting: “There are several terrorists there… They are heavily armed!”

Ben Yehuda called on soldiers from the “Caracal” infantry combat battalion (made up of men and women) to give their best, making her intentions clear: “We are going out to eliminate terrorists. The infiltration into Israel is spreading. Stay alert.”

During the quick trip, Ben Yehuda began to understand the scale of terrorist attacks in the region. Upon arriving in Sufa, she received a report from a sergeant standing at the entrance of the military base guards saying that the terrorists were inside along with at least three wounded.

The report also said there were soldiers from the Nahal patrol and the 50th battalion, other soldiers, military guides operating in high-risk areas, and many terrorists at the outpost.

“It was obvious that most of the militants were in the mess hall, armed with anti-tank missiles…It became clear that this was not a typical terrorist infiltration. Approaching the base from all sides, at least seven terrorists were spotted…Suddenly, nearly 50 terrorists and snipers attacked the Nahal patrol at breakneck speed. They responded with gunfire. The terrorists were eliminated and the others were dispersed. At one point, a terrorist approached Ben Yehuda at point-blank range, but her quick reaction saved her.”

Meanwhile, a lieutenant colonel from the Magic Touch Squadron arrived at the scene and identified the terrorists inside the base. He suggested that action be taken, but Ben Yehuda insisted on avoiding the worst as there were already soldiers inside.

Instead, bursts of fire were directed at the surrounding earthen embankments, killing terrorists and preventing further attacks on the group.

For nearly four hours, terrorists attempted to eliminate Ben Yehuda and her team. More trucks arrived, but the commander of the Caracal battalion effectively thwarted them. Additional Light Anti-Armor Weapon (LAW) missiles were launched, further eliminating the terrorists: Some were killed and others retreated.

Despite injuries to some soldiers, they persisted.

After hours of fierce fighting, soldiers from the Navy Special Forces unit “Shayetet” arrived to “clear” the base of terrorists. To help them they launched drones.

The fighting continued and those soldiers who were wounded were evacuated from the site. The rest remained at the base for a total of 14 hours until they were completely safe.
