Teenager injures hand with firecracker at Larnaca district primary school

A 16-year-old was injured in the hand after a firecracker exploded at a primary school in the Larnaca district on Sunday evening, police said.

Police received information at around 7.30 pm about an injury caused by a firecracker at the school.

Inquiries by the Kofinou police station found that the teenager had been at the primary school with other people when he injured the palm of his hand while using a factory-made firecracker.

He was taken by ambulance to Nicosia General Hospital, where he received first aid and was later discharged.

Kofinou police station is continuing the investigation.
