A 16-year-old boy remains in a critical condition at Nicosia General Hospital after sustaining injuries in a road collision in the Famagusta district late last night.
The crash occurred around 10:30 pm yesterday. Under circumstances currently under investigation, a car driven by a 17-year-old, carrying two other young passengers aged 17 and 16, veered off the road on the Liopetri – Avgorou route, travelling toward Avgorou. The vehicle slammed into an Electricity Authority pole and came to rest in an adjacent field.
All three occupants of the car suffered injuries and were taken by ambulance to Famagusta General Hospital. Both 17-year-olds received first aid treatment and were discharged.
The 16-year-old victim sustained various fractures. Due to the critical nature of his condition, doctors judged it necessary to transfer him to Nicosia General Hospital, where he currently receives treatment.
Xylofagou Police Station continues its investigations into the crash.
