Strong winds blowing since the early hours of Sunday caused problems for vessels involved in works to build a fish shelter owned by the Department of Fisheries and Marine Research in the Pentakomo area of the Limassol district.
Rough seas caused two of the vessels to drift away from the worksite.
One vessel ended up on the breakwaters of the naval base at Mari, while the second ran aground on rocks within the sea area.

Authorities and work crews went to the scene to take the necessary steps to remove the vessels and restore the situation.
A third vessel was carried by the strong winds to the Governor’s Beach area.
