Cyprus will see periods of mainly cloudy weather today, with local showers and isolated thunderstorms expected at first mainly over the western half of the island and the mountains, before spreading later to inland areas and the north.
Winds will be mainly southwesterly to westerly, weak to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, becoming locally strong at 5 Beaufort later, mainly along the south-eastern coast.
The sea will become slight to moderate in the west and slight elsewhere.
Temperatures will rise to around 18C inland and along the west and north coasts, around 19C along the rest of the coast and around 8C in the higher mountains.
Tonight, isolated showers or a thunderstorm are expected mainly along the west coast.
Winds will gradually turn mainly northwesterly to northeasterly and ease to light at 2 to 3 Beaufort.
The sea will gradually become calm to slight, and slight in the west.
