This morning a meeting occurred at the Presidential Palace regarding the prices of milk and the problems that sheep and goat farmers are facing.
In a statement after the meeting, Agriculture Minister Kostas Kadis said that the meeting took place in a constructive atmosphere. As he said, the President initially informed the farmers of the government’s decisiveness to implement in total what is required by the Regulation registering Halloumi as a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) product.
Kadis noted that farmers explained their problems and agreed that another meeting will take place soon with all parties involved so as to reach a commonly acceptable solution.
