As part of the cooperation and upgraded relations between the Armed Forces of the Republic of Cyprus and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Aerobatic Saudi Hawks were hosted on Friday at the Andreas Papandreou Air Base in Paphos, which functioned as an intermediate station for refuelling and a short rest for crews.
The Aerobatic squadron, consisting of 8 Hawk aircraft as well as 2 C-130 aircraft as support, performed an aerial salute from above the base.
“The presence of the squadron in Cyprus is part of the network of international partnerships developed by the National Guard and is a continuation of the upgraded cooperation and excellent relationship between the Armed Forces of the 2 states,” the defence ministry said in an announcement.
