Thursday will be mainly cloudy with medium and high clouds, whilst increased low clouds in western areas during the afternoon may produce isolated rain, the Department of Meteorology said.
Morning winds will blow northeast to southeast, light to moderate and locally moderate, force 3 to 4, gradually turning southwest to northwest by late afternoon with the same intensity. The sea will be generally slightly rough, later rough in western and northern areas.
Temperatures will reach around 20C inland, around 21C on the coasts and 14C in the higher mountains.
Thursday evening will be mainly cloudy with local rain and isolated thunderstorms expected, initially in western areas and progressively across the rest of the island. Snow is expected in the higher mountains.
Winds will blow southwest to northwest, moderate to strong inland at force 4 to 5, and strong to very strong on the coasts at force 5 to 6, temporarily reaching gale force 6 to 7. The sea will gradually become rough to very rough, and very rough in western and northern areas.
Friday will see local rain and isolated thunderstorms, with hail possible during storms. Snowfall is expected in the higher mountains. The island will be affected by very strong to gale force southwest to northwest winds.
Saturday will be mainly cloudy with local rain and snow in the higher mountains expected. The wind field will weaken temporarily.
Sunday will remain mainly cloudy with local rain, isolated thunderstorms and snow in the higher mountains. The island will be affected by southwest, very strong and temporarily gale force winds.
Temperatures on Friday are expected to drop noticeably, falling to near and slightly below seasonal normal levels. A small rise is expected on Saturday, with little change on Sunday, keeping temperatures near the average for the season.
