Rain and snow forecast for Cyprus as temperatures stay below seasonal norms

Cyprus is in for a cool and unsettled few days, with cloud, scattered showers and snow on the mountains expected from Thursday through the weekend, as temperatures remain below seasonal averages.

On Thursday, spells of increased cloud cover will bring isolated showers and light snow on higher ground.

North-westerly to northerly winds will blow at moderate to strong force — 4 to 5 Beaufort — with occasional local gusts reaching 5 to 6 Beaufort.

Seas will be moderate to rough, locally rough.

Daytime highs will reach 15°C inland, around 16°C on the coast and 3°C on the highest peaks, where frost is expected.

Friday and Saturday will bring a similar pattern, with periods of increased cloud and the chance of isolated showers and light mountain snow.

Sunday will start partly cloudy before becoming mainly overcast at times. Localised rain and isolated thunderstorms are expected around midday and early afternoon, mainly over the mountains and inland areas, with snow possible on higher ground.

Temperatures are not expected to change significantly over the three-day period and will remain below average for this time of year.
