Authorities are investigating a case of murder following the death of an inmate at the Nicosia Central Prisons.
The man died after a brutal assault he suffered within the detention facility.
Early reports indicate the victim, a man of Arab origin, was attacked by three Greek Cypriot inmates.
He was rushed to hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.
Arrests of those involved are imminent as the entire incident appears to have been captured on the prison’s closed-circuit television (CCTV) system.
The Nicosia CID said it is investigating a case of murder.
