President Nikos Christodoulides congratulated Greece’s caretaker prime minister Ioannis Sarmas for his appointment during a telephone conversation on Tuesday.
The two country leaders agreed to be in contact on any issues that may arise.
The news about the phone call between the two politicians announced the director of the office of the president Victor Papadopoulos on Twitter.
Sarmas, a senior judge, was sworn in as Greece’s caretaker prime minister last Thursday to lead the country to a repeat election on June 25 following Sunday’s inconclusive vote.
