Police arrested a 36-year-old man in Limassol yesterday following an investigation into a string of thefts and the possession of stolen property.
The arrest follows a specific report of a power tool theft committed on 2 January 2026. Evidence linked the suspect to the crime, leading authorities to secure and execute a judicial arrest warrant at noon yesterday.
Evidence Seized During House Raid
Following the arrest, officers raided the suspect’s residence, where they uncovered a cache of stolen goods, including:
A large number of watches and various power tools.
The specific power tool reported stolen in the 2 January case.
Two trailers, which police later confirmed were previously reported as stolen.
Charges and Detention
The 36-year-old failed to provide a credible explanation for how the items came into his possession. Consequently, officers re-arrested him on the spot for the caught-in-the-act offences of illegal possession of property and receiving stolen goods.
The suspect remains in custody while Polemidia Police Station and the Limassol Petty Offences Department continue their enquiries.
