Police name victim of fatal Kato Paphos crash

A 70-year-old pedestrian died after being struck by a car in Kato Paphos on Monday afternoon, as reported yesterday.

Police identified the victim as Christakis Vryonis, 70, from Paphos.

The fatal collision occurred at 5pm on Agion Anargyron Avenue in Kato Paphos. Vryonis was hit by a car whilst on foot under circumstances being investigated and was taken by ambulance to Paphos Hospital, where he died from his injuries about two hours later.

The driver of the vehicle, a 48-year-old man, was arrested under a court warrant and detained to facilitate investigations.

Traffic police are continuing their investigation into the fatal crash.
