Police launch widespread operations across Cyprus, leading to multiple arrests

Cyprus Police conducted extensive operations across the country last night, carrying out organized patrols in key urban areas to prevent serious criminal activities, ensure public order, and increase public safety.

As a result of the preventive policing efforts, four individuals were arrested for various offenses, including robbery, assault, theft, domestic violence, and impersonation.

During the operations, 593 vehicles were stopped for checks, and 759 individuals aboard these vehicles were inspected. Additionally, 27 premises were searched in an effort to address criminal behavior.

Traffic checks resulted in 359 violations being reported, with 11 cases of traffic violations under investigation. Six vehicles were impounded as part of these checks.

Among the reported violations, 96 concerned speeding, while one driver tested positive for drugs during a preliminary drug test. A total of ten drivers were tested for drug use, and 61 drivers underwent alcohol tests.

The coordinated law enforcement operations aimed at preventing and addressing crime continue daily, with increased police presence, targeted checks, and swift operational actions to protect citizens and ensure public order.
