Police fined 41 individuals and four establishments all across Cyprus over the past 24 hours for violation of protective measures aiming to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
The Force had carried out a total of 4,010 checks and most fines had to do with people not wearing a face mask, according to CNA.
In Nicosia, 1,025 checks were carried out and two individuals got fines; in Limassol, out of 499 checks 19 people were fined; in Larnaca, out of 650 checks seven individuals were fined.
In Pafos, out of 321 checks three individuals were fined as well as the owners or managers of two establishments; in Famagusta, out of 1,102 checks 10 people and two establishments got fines.
In Morphou, no one was reported out of 170 checks carried out. No fines were handed out either after 36 checks in the holiday island’s ports and airports.
