Police have intensified night-time operations across all major cities to crush criminality and restore public order. A massive show of force yesterday evening resulted in four arrests and hundreds of penalties as officers focused on high-risk locations.
Hundreds intercepted in overnight raids
Police conducted 767 targeted stops during the operation. Of the four individuals taken into custody:
Two were wanted under outstanding arrest warrants.
One was caught working as a security guard without a professional licence.
One was arrested for refusing to provide a breath sample for an alcohol test.
Nightclubs and bars under fire
Specialist teams raided 53 establishments, resulting in 17 formal reports. Violations included operating without a permit, the illegal sale of alcohol, and the unauthorised use of loudspeakers. Authorities also penalised owners for allowing smoking indoors and permitting minors to enter restricted venues.
Traffic offences skyrocket
Road policing units issued 157 fines during the sweep. Drink-driving remains a critical concern, with 25 motorists caught behind the wheel while over the legal limit.
The Police High Command stated these operations form part of a permanent, reinforced prevention strategy designed to bolster public safety through immediate operational action in every province.
