Police catch duo red-handed stripping copper pipes from Limassol rooftop

Police arrested a 55-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman in the early hours of Christmas morning after catching them in the middle of a rooftop copper raid. Officers swooped on a building in Limassol at approximately 1:15 am following reports of two suspicious figures moving across the roof.

Upon arrival, units discovered the building’s main entrance had been forced open. They moved to the roof, where they found the pair busy cutting through copper piping.

The suspects had already caused significant damage to the property, including:

Climate Control: Severed air conditioning pipes and cables.

Power Supply: Damaged live electrical wiring feeding the building.

Police searched the duo and uncovered an array of housebreaking implements and power tools. Both were arrested on the spot for illegal entry, malicious damage, attempted theft, and possession of housebreaking tools.

The pair remains in custody as the Limassol Petty Offences Department spearheads the ongoing investigation.
