Police arrested three suspects in Limassol after stopping a car for a check, with a follow-up search uncovering burglary tools, jewellery, mobile phones and other items.
Members of Limassol CID stopped a car driven by a 49-year-old man on Saturday. During the check, the man allegedly pushed a police officer in an attempt to escape, but was stopped and arrested for a flagrant offence after also resisting arrest.
During the investigation that followed, police found two other people, both aged 38, who presented identity cards whose authenticity is now being examined.
A search of a flat then uncovered a large number of burglary tools, a quantity of gold items and jewellery, mobile phones and various other objects. According to the source text, the three suspects allegedly refused to give any explanation for possessing them.
The three were taken to Limassol CID offices for questioning and identification checks and were later arrested under court warrants and taken into custody.
