Police arrested a 48-year-old man on Tuesday who was wanted over an alleged attempted murder in the Famagusta district in which a 61-year-old man was seriously injured.
The incident happened on 8 August on a village road in the Famagusta district, according to police.
The victim had been in a verbal dispute with another person, who then got into a car and ran him over as he drove off, police said.
The 61-year-old was seriously injured and taken to hospital, where he remained for treatment.
Evidence obtained by investigators led to the issue of an arrest warrant for the 48-year-old. Police released his photograph and details on 9 August in an attempt to locate him.
Following his arrest on Tuesday, police said further publication of his details was unnecessary.
The arrested man was remanded in custody whilst Famagusta CID continues its investigation.
