Cyprus will enjoy three bank holiday weekends in 2026, including a four-day Easter break, but workers lose out on two public holidays that fall on Saturdays.
The Assumption of the Virgin Mary on 15 August and Boxing Day on 26 December both land on Saturdays in 2026, meaning no extra days off for most workers compared to a regular weekend.
However, May Day falls on Friday 1 May, creating a long weekend to kick off spring.
Three-day weekends
The year offers three three-day breaks:
Green Monday on 23 February creates a long weekend from 21-23 February (Saturday to Monday).
May Day on Friday 1 May extends the weekend from 1-3 May.
Whit Monday on 1 June creates a long weekend from 30 May to 1 June (Saturday to Monday). This is not a universal public holiday.
Four-day Easter break
The year’s only four-day weekend runs from 10-13 April, covering Good Friday through Easter Monday.
Orthodox Easter falls on Sunday 12 April 2026, a week after Catholic Easter on Sunday 5 April.
