Tomorrow, December 15, 2023, two pension disbursements are anticipated to land in the accounts of retirees of the Social Insurance Fund.
This follows the expedited payment of their December pensions, inclusive of the 13th pension, facilitated by the Fund to coincide with the Christmas season.
According to an announcement by the Ministry of Labour, on Thursday, December 14, 2023, pensions, the special allowance for individuals with thalassemia from the Social Insurance Fund, social pensions, and the special increment in the statutory pension for December 2023, alongside the 13th pension, will be transferred to beneficiaries.
According to Phileleftheros, instructions to banks have already been issued, and by midday today, it is expected that all pensioners will find both their pensions deposited into their accounts as a lump sum – encompassing the December pension and the 13th pension.
This disbursement has been a longstanding practice, with beneficiaries accustomed to the understanding that there will be no additional pension payment at month-end.
The subsequent pension payment for Social Insurance Fund pensioners is scheduled for the final day of January, encompassing their benefits for that specific month.
Meanwhile, pensioners receiving support from the Ministry of Social Welfare through the low-income pensioners household support scheme can anticipate an additional deposit into their accounts starting next week.
Following a Cabinet decision to grant a Christmas bonus this year to recipients of social benefits, low-income pensioners who qualify for both the small allowance and are not beneficiaries of minimum guaranteed income or other public aid will receive an amount equivalent to the low-income pension allowance for December 2023, with a minimum guaranteed sum of €100.
This sum is slated to be credited to their accounts on December 19, 2023.
