Nicosia Municipality has installed 21 feeding stations for stray cats across all municipal districts, as well as two dedicated feeding areas at the Pedieos river park and Olympiados Park, with support from Cosmos Insurance.
The initiative was launched in cooperation with volunteers and is aimed at promoting an organised and responsible approach to animal welfare across the city.
A highlight of the launch event was a practical demonstration by Maria Arkoudi, the initiative’s originator, who travelled to Cyprus to share her experience and expertise on the use of the feeding stations. Children from the Faneromeni kindergarten also took part, adding an enthusiastic note to the occasion.
The launch also introduced Pet Friendly Nicosia, a new initiative focused on raising awareness of animal welfare and promoting Nicosia as a more inclusive city for all.
