The Movement of Ecologists’ Animal Action Team intervened after a social media post circulated showing a horse in poor condition.
Team representatives coordinated with the local police station and went immediately to the location, according to an announcement.
With a police escort and the community leader present, the horse was transferred to a safe location where it is expected to be examined by a vet and given necessary medication.
Police are continuing their investigation under animal welfare legislation.

Anthi Mouzouri, the Animal Action Team coordinator, thanked those who helped with the transfer and hosting of the animal, as well as the local police station for its immediate response.
She gave special mention to Adonis Giangos, a team member, for coordinating the transfer process and finding suitable hosting space.
