From November 30 to December 5, 2025, the National Guard conducted the multinational and joint Special Operations Exercise, TAMΣ “PERSEAS – 2025”, which took place in training and firing grounds across the Republic of Cyprus.
Participants and Objectives
Participants in the exercise included elements from the National Guard’s Commando Command, Naval Command, and Air Command, the Search and Rescue Coordination Center (JRCC), the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit (EAU), and the Aviation Operations Unit of the Police. Furthermore, Special Operations Forces from the Armed Forces of Greece, Jordan, and the Royal Saudi Arabian Navy took part.
The goal of the exercise was to train personnel in critical special operations subjects, enhance joint force interoperability, and evaluate the level of cooperation between various government services. Emphasis was also placed on upgrading the interoperability between the Armed Forces of the participating countries at both the operational and tactical levels.
Outcome
The exercise is considered particularly successful, as it allowed the National Guard’s special operations personnel to train alongside corresponding units from friendly nations and services. This strengthened the exchange of know-how and best practices, contributing to operational upgrade and enhanced cooperation in a multinational environment.
