More than 50 Cyprus flights face disruption during tomorrow’s general strike

More than 50 flights at Cyprus’s Larnaca and Paphos airports are expected to face disruption on Thursday due to a three-hour strike by air traffic controllers, a Hermes Airports spokesperson told the Cyprus News Agency.

The industrial action, scheduled from 11:00 to 14:00 local time on 11 September, is anticipated to affect over 15,000 passengers.

The three-hour stoppage will likely cause flight delays or cancellations at both airports.

According to Hermes, airlines have already begun rescheduling flights in response to the announced strike action, with passengers set to receive notifications regarding any changes to departure or arrival times.

Travellers have been advised to contact their airlines directly, travel agents, or ground handling companies for information about potential changes to their flights.

Hermes Airports stated that once flight rescheduling is complete, updates will be posted on the company’s website at www.hermesairports.com, which passengers are encouraged to monitor for the latest information.
