Minister of Power welcomes EU approval of €657 million for EuroAsia Interconnector

Cypriot Minister of Power Natasa Pilides welcomed Wednesday the approval of €657 million from European funds for EuroAsia Interconnector, a European Venture of Widespread Curiosity aiming to attach the nationwide electrical energy grids of Israel, Cyprus and Greece by way of a 1,208km subsea HVDC cable.

The funds have been authorized below the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF).
In a publish on twitter, Pilides says that the € 657 million funding authorized, “is good news for Cyprus” and factors out that there’re a number of advantages of the electrical energy interconnection for Cyprus.
