“Minds in Cyprus” platform officially launched to reconnect local labour market with diaspora workers

President Christodoulides on Tuesday announced the launch of a digital platform designed to link the local labour market with diaspora Cypriots.

The “Minds in Cyprus” platform, accessible at mindsincyprus.com, continues a government initiative first presented in May with the objective of creating “a dynamic bridge with Cypriots abroad”, according to the president’s social media announcement.

The system provides access to the Labour Ministry’s “Opportunities for Talent” service, enabling users to view “available job positions in Cyprus”, register for opportunities and receive “personalised information” about professional prospects.

Platform offers job opportunities and repatriation information

The platform features the first edition of an “Information Hub” providing practical guidance for individuals considering “repatriation” to Cyprus. Users can access current employment listings and receive customised notifications about career opportunities.

Interested parties can register through the system and receive targeted updates matching their professional qualifications with domestic market opportunities.

The integrated service allows diaspora members to maintain connections with Cyprus employment sectors whilst residing internationally.

Christodoulides emphasised that “repatriation and reintegration of Cypriot talent constitute a basic component of the government’s strategic planning” for the country’s future development.

The president positioned diaspora engagement as fundamental to economic growth.

The initiative addresses skills shortages across key economic sectors through targeted talent recruitment.

“Cyprus is changing and needs all of you. Whether through your return or through your contribution from abroad, your contribution is decisive,” Christodoulides stated in his platform announcement.

The president concluded by calling on Cypriots abroad to “become protagonists in the country’s transformation”.
