Man stabbed in shoulder in Limassol city centre, is seriously injured

Police are searching for three men after a 37-year-old Syrian man was seriously injured in a stabbing incident in Limassol city centre on Saturday night.

The victim was sitting at a café between Athinon and Anexartisias Streets at around 7 p.m. when three individuals approached him, according to information from the Limassol Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

A verbal argument escalated into a fight, during which one of the three men pulled out a knife and stabbed the Syrian national in the shoulder blade area.The three attackers immediately fled the scene after the incident. The victim was rushed to a private clinic for medical treatment.Initially, authorities suggested the man’s injuries were not severe, but subsequent information indicated the 37-year-old was seriously injured, sources said.

Limassol CID members sealed off the scene to conduct on-site examinations and are carrying out intensive searches to locate the three suspects. The area will remain sealed off and under guard for further investigation.
