An unknown man fired a hunting rifle into the air twice and threatened a group of three young people in a churchyard in a Limassol district village late on Thursday night.
A 21-year-old reported to police that at around 11:15 pm, while he and two friends aged 18 and 20 were in the churchyard, two shots rang out from close range.
The suspect, standing approximately 70 metres away, was holding a hunting rifle and fired twice into the air. He shouted and threatened the group in regard to the use of firecrackers.
Police attended the scene. Episkopi Police Station is investigating.
