Love, dating, comedy: English stand-up in Limassol

The local comedy scene has picked up in the last year and although the majority of the shows are in Greek, a few pop up occasionally in English and sometimes, Russian. This January, English speakers of the island will get to meet a travelling comedian from abroad as he presents a single show in Limassol all about love and dating.

Victor Patrascan is a Romanian-born stand-up comedian and social commentator who has been making audiences laugh since 2012. Crowds in the UK, Japan, Germany, Sweden, Singapore, Thailand, Iceland, Croatia and South Korea among many other places have seen him live and now it is time for Cyprus audiences to enjoy an evening of laughter. On January 29, Patrascan will present a comedy show in English at Ravens Music Hall in Limassol.

Titled Falling in Love, the show will touch on failures in relationships and love, romantic adventures and the hilarious moments of dating. His stop in Cyprus is nestled in between gigs in Malta, Italy, Austria and other European countries as since April 2021, Patrascan has been on tour with his self-produced stand-up shows in English.

And that’s not all there is to look forward to. For stand-up comedy lovers who are looking for a dose of laughter earlier in the month, more comedy shows are happening around the island this January, but in Greek. The Hambis 2023 show will be presented at Ravens Music Hall on January 9, at Larnaca’s Avalon Live on the following evening and at Maskarini Theatre in Nicosia on January 12.
