The Limassol Tourism Development and Promotion Company (ETAL), in collaboration with the Limassol Cycling Club, hosted a meeting on Tuesday aimed at instructing local authorities to promote a planned cycling network in the district.
According to a statement released after the meeting, the cycling network includes several communities namely Souni, Zanakia, Kivides, Sotira, Erimi, Episkopi, Ayios Ambrosios, Ayios Therapon, Lofou, and Vouni.
“The project is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development,” the statement added.
The routes will be accessible online, providing cyclists with maps, route descriptions, difficulty levels, and other useful information.
Additionally, the routes will be signposted, and suitable equipment for bike parking and maintenance has already been installed.
“The broader goal of the project is to highlight the Cypriot landscapes and nature, introduce cyclists to rural communities and strengthen the involvement of small rural businesses,” the statement concluded.
