Four teenagers who allegedly planted bombs across Limassol last May in exchange for small sums of money have admitted their guilt and been placed under a three-year probation supervision order by the Limassol Criminal Court.
The four defendants are a 14-year-old, a 15-year-old and two 17-year-olds. A fifth defendant, a 23-year-old who allegedly financed the attacks, denies the charges and remains on remand at the Central Prisons. Together the five faced charges related to five serious criminal acts.
Proceedings were held in camera because four of the five defendants are minors.
The incidents took place over several days in late May 2025. On 26 May, a bomb was placed at a mechanical workshop belonging to a 43-year-old. Three days later, on 29 May, a bomb attack targeted a brewery. The following day, 30 May, a device exploded in the vehicle of a 26-year-old friend of the brewery owner.
The four minors came to the attention of investigators after their arrest in June 2025 for the robbery of a bakery on 8 June and the theft of a vehicle. Evidence that emerged during subsequent investigations linked them to the earlier bombing incidents.
According to evidence obtained by Limassol CID investigators, the 23-year-old co-defendant allegedly financed the attacks by giving small sums of money to the two 17-year-olds to carry out the criminal acts.
