A large fire that broke out about an hour ago in an agricultural area between the communities of Koili and Stroumpi in the Paphos district is in progress.
The fire broke out for reasons still unknown; however, due to strong winds blowing today, it is spreading very quickly, causing intense mobilisation of firefighting forces.
Fire engines from Paphos city and district stations have already rushed to the scene and are operating, along with Forestry Department forces and community authority crews.
The fire is burning areas with dry grass, wild vegetation and trees, without the residential area of surrounding communities being at risk so far.
