High pressure brings clouds and climbing temperatures

High pressure dominates the region today, according to the Meteorological Service. Clouds will sweep across the sky at intervals, though the sun will break through frequently. Temperatures will reach 17°C inland, roughly 19°C along the coast, and 10°C in the highest mountain peaks.

Northeasterly to southeasterly winds will blow at a light to moderate 3 to 4 Beaufort, picking up to a strong 5 Beaufort along windward coasts by the afternoon. The sea will remain slight to moderate.

Nightfall brings clearer skies, though clouds will persist at times. Temperatures will drop to 5°C inland, 9°C on the coast, and a chilly 2°C in the mountains. Frost may form in sheltered upland and semi-mountainous areas. Winds will remain northeasterly at 3 to 4 Beaufort.

Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday will stay mostly clear, despite occasional cloud cover. Temperatures will climb steadily throughout the week, eventually rising above the seasonal climate averages.
