Torrential rainfall is currently hitting the Nicosia – Limassol motorway, specifically in the areas of Kornos and Kofinou. According to police reports, the intense downpour has led to significant water accumulation on the road surface, creating hazardous driving conditions. Visibility in these areas is also severely limited.
The Cyprus Police have issued an urgent appeal to all motorists traveling on this stretch of the highway. To minimize the risk of accidents and hydroplaning, drivers are advised to reduce speed significantly, increase safety distances from the vehicles ahead, and switch on headlights.
