Greek and Turkish Cypriot events say Karpaz peninsula shouldn’t be used as navy space

Representatives of Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot events who had a gathering on Wednesday on the Residence of Cooperation, in Nicosia, have expressed the view that the Karpaz peninsula ought to be used for purely environmental and cultural functions and never as a navy space.

In a joint communiqué, issued by the Embassy of Slovakia beneath the aegis of which the conferences happen, the representatives of Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot events “expressed concern about latest statements and actions which undermine the prospect of the reunification of Cyprus.”
