For the second time in a short period, the parents of Lambros were confronted with a horrifying sight: their child’s grave desecrated—this time with red spray paint. Despite their pain and anger, they are not calling for blame to be placed, but for protective measures to be taken. “Lambros is in the glory of God,” they say with dignity, calling for respect for both memory and human decency.
The full post by Lambros’s father Pantelis Kallenos:
For the second time, we were faced with the desecration of our child’s grave—of our Lambros.
After the first act of vandalism, we cleaned everything, believing it would not happen again.
But today, we once again came across the same distressing sight, this time with red spray paint.
The sad truth is that there is someone out there with a deeply disturbed soul, choosing to repeatedly attack Lambros’s memorial.
But we all know that Lambros is not there. What is there is only a monument; Lambros is in the glory of God.
And with such actions, they do not harm him—they only hurt us, his parents. It is sorrowful and sick.
We are not seeking to place blame on the local authorities.
What we are asking for, however, is that measures be taken, because there are ways: lighting, security, better protection.
Amidst all this pain, the first and most important thing for us is to keep our faith in God alive, and to feel the blessing of Lambros.
That is the greatest strength that sustains us: that the memory of our child remains a light and a blessing for all. 🙏
