Very strong southwesterly and locally severe southwesterly winds of force 6 to 7 Beaufort are expected to affect the island, with gusts up to force 8, the Department of Meteorology said on Thursday.
The winds are expected to affect the island while wind gusts are expected to reach up to storm force 8 Beaufort.
The warning is in effect from 0800 local time on 9 January 2026 until 2200 local time on 9 January 2026.
The hazard level is listed as yellow.
