The first baby of 2026 arrived in Cyprus just over two hours into the New Year. The baby girl was born via natural delivery at the Ygia Polyclinic in Limassol.
The birth took place at 02:26, with the newborn weighing 3 kilograms. The parents are of Russian origin, and the medical staff confirmed that both the mother and the infant are in excellent health. The delivery was attended by obstetrician-gynecologist Dr. Natalia Sachnova.
