Firefighters rescued a kitten and contained a blaze at an abandoned former restaurant in Kato Paphos in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The Paphos Fire Station received the call at 5:46 am and dispatched two vehicles. Crews brought the fire under control by 6:28 am.
The blaze damaged restaurant equipment, the interior of the premises and an external wooden pergola. A kitten found inside the building was rescued. The cause of the fire is under investigation in cooperation with the relevant authorities.
In the 24 hours to 6:00 am on Thursday, the Fire Service responded to 27 calls — 19 fires, six special services and two false alarms.
