A fire broke out in the early hours of Monday at an abandoned premises in Linopetra, Limassol district, with authorities not ruling out arson.
The Fire Service received a call at 03:52 reporting a blaze in a pile of waste materials — wooden pallets and tyres — at the derelict site. Crews from the Agios Nikolaos fire station responded and brought the fire under control by 04:34.
The circumstances of the fire are under investigation. Authorities have not ruled out that it was set deliberately by unknown persons.
