Fatal road accident in Limassol

A 36-year-old man, originally from Ukraine and a permanent resident of Cyprus, lost his life in a Christmas day road accident in Limassol during the early morning hours.

According to Limassol traffic police officer Marios Charalambous, “The 36-year-old was driving a high-powered motorcycle on the Limassol bypass road in an eastward direction.” “At some point on the road before the Polemidia roundabout, under circumstances currently being investigated, he appears to have lost control of his vehicle.”

Police report that the 36-year-old struck a traffic island on the roundabout and, despite wearing a protective helmet, suffered fatal injuries.

He was taken to Limassol General Hospital by ambulance, where he was pronounced dead.

Limassol traffic police are investigating the causes of the fatal incident.
