€2.7m tender launched for Vasilikos Energy Centre security facility

The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works has launched a tender for the construction and 12-year maintenance of a Special Security Centre at the Vasilikos Energy Centre, with bids due by 31 October 2025.

The estimated cost of the project amounts to €2.7 million excluding VAT, funded from national resources. Work is scheduled to begin in February 2026, with an 18-month construction period.

The project involves the design, construction and long-term maintenance of a two-storey building with a total area of at least 700 square metres, to be erected in the Mari area.

The Special Security Centre will operate on a 24-hour basis with shifts and will be staffed by police officers. Its aim is to strengthen security at the critical Vasilikos energy hub, which hosts significant infrastructure.

The tender will be conducted through an open procedure with the most economically advantageous offer based on price as the award criterion. The defects liability and maintenance period is set at 12 years after project completion.
