Dust storm keeps pupils indoors on last school day before Easter break

The Education Ministry has ordered schools to keep pupils inside and ban all outdoor activities as a heavy dust storm blankets the island on the last school day before the Easter holidays.

The ministry’s Health and Safety Office sent a circular to all schools early Friday setting out mandatory precautions.

Pupils must stay in their classrooms all day, windows must remain shut, and staff have been told to monitor closely anyone with respiratory conditions or belonging to a vulnerable group.
