Dust returns on Wednesday as showers stay possible through Thursday

Low pressure is affecting the area temporarily, with isolated showers still possible over the next few days before dust returns to the atmosphere from Wednesday. Forecast conditions for Cyprus this week also point to improving weather on Monday, followed by more cloud and a greater chance of rain by Thursday.

Tonight, the weather will be partly cloudy in places and isolated showers cannot be ruled out, mainly in the west and the mountains. Winds will blow south-westerly to westerly, at 3 to 4 Beaufort inland and in the mountains, and 4 to 5 Beaufort on the coast, temporarily reaching 6 Beaufort on windward coasts. The sea will be rough to very rough. Temperatures will fall to 9 °C inland, around 12 °C on the coast and 4 °C in the higher mountains.

Tomorrow, the weather will be partly cloudy at times and isolated showers may fall in the afternoon, mainly in the south and east. Winds will blow south-westerly to north-westerly at 3 to 4 Beaufort and temporarily up to 5 Beaufort on the coast. The sea will initially be rough before gradually becoming slight to rough. Temperatures will rise to around 19 °C inland, on southern and eastern coasts, around 17 °C on the remaining coasts and 10 °C in the higher mountains.

Tomorrow night, the weather will be mostly clear, although there will be intervals of increased cloud. Winds will blow north-westerly to north-easterly, and on northern coasts south-easterly, at 3 Beaufort. The sea will initially be up to rough before gradually becoming slight.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, the weather will be partly cloudy at times, with isolated showers possible on Wednesday. On Thursday, the weather will turn mostly cloudy, with local showers and isolated thunderstorms expected.

Temperatures will remain at similar levels on Tuesday and Wednesday, close to the seasonal average, before edging lower on Thursday.
