A driver who struck newly installed bollards in Protaras and fled the scene has been traced and reported to police, the Paralimni–Deryneia Municipality has announced.
The incident occurred on the evening of Wednesday 8 April 2026, when a vehicle hit stainless steel bollards that had recently been placed on pavements to protect pedestrians and deter illegal parking, causing serious damage, according to a municipal statement.
The driver left the scene but was identified and reported to police following immediate intervention by officers in cooperation with the municipality.
