A road collision involving a car and a motorcycle occurred shortly after 12:30 PM on a road in Paphos.
Police confirmed the fatal crash, involving the 23-year-old motorcyclist’s high-capacity bike, took place on Tassos Papadopoulos Avenue, under investigation.
The victim sustained serious injuries, and an ambulance rushed him to Paphos Hospital, where, despite the efforts of the doctors on duty, he passed away a short time later.
In connection with the circumstances of the deadly road collision, police officers arrested the 41-year-old driver of the involved car under a judicial arrest warrant.
Simultaneously, police also arrested the 41-year-old on suspicion of illegal stay within the Republic’s territory.
The 41-year-old underwent an alcohol influence test, which returned a negative result. However, he tested positive in a preliminary drug influence test. Authorities took samples from him for a final laboratory drug test.
The Paphos Traffic Department continues its investigations.
