Cyprus sets May 2 deadline for voter registration ahead of 2026 parliamentary elections

The Interior Ministry has reminded the public that the deadline to submit an application for registration on the electoral roll ahead of the parliamentary elections on May 24, 2026, is May 2, 2026.

After that date, no new registrations or changes to the electoral register will be possible.

According to the ministry, all citizens of the Republic of Cyprus aged 18 and over have the right to vote in the elections, provided they have had their usual residence in Cyprus for the past six months.

The ministry is particularly urging young voters to submit their applications in time to ensure their registration on the electoral roll before the deadline expires.

Young people who turn 18 by election day are also eligible to register, provided their application is submitted during the final quarterly revision of the electoral register, covering the period from January 3, 2026, to April 2, 2026.

Turkish Cypriots holding an identity card of the Republic of Cyprus and having an address in the government-controlled areas are also eligible to register.

For individuals up to the age of 25, applications can also be submitted online through the website elections.gov.cy.

Printed applications may be submitted at District Administration Offices, Citizen Service Centres (KEP) and Citizen Service Centres operated by Cyprus Post.

The relevant application forms are available at these locations, at the Interior Ministry and on the elections website.
