Cyprus repatriates 82 people from Saudi Arabia amid Gulf war

A Cyprus Airways repatriation flight from Dammam, Saudi Arabia, has landed in Cyprus carrying 82 passengers, the Foreign Ministry announced.

The National Crisis Management Centre chartered the flight in coordination with Cypriot embassies in Qatar, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia.

Those on board included Cypriot citizens, their family members, permanent residents of Cyprus, and European nationals who had been stranded in Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait following the outbreak of conflict in the Middle East and Gulf region.

The Foreign Ministry thanked the Saudi Arabian authorities for their assistance and cooperation in the repatriation effort.

The Ministry and Cyprus’s diplomatic missions said they would continue to assist citizens remaining in the region.
