Cyprus repatriates 805 citizens from high-risk areas across five flights

Cyprus has repatriated 805 nationals from high-risk areas across five flights so far, with two more arriving on Friday, Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis announced.

Speaking to journalists at the Presidential Palace Press Centre, Letymbiotis said the two flights landed during the day — one carrying 145 compatriots and a second, which arrived shortly before his statement, carrying 148 passengers.

Authorities coordinated by the Foreign Ministry are continuously monitoring the situation and adjusting planning to make use of every available means of transport, he said.

Additional repatriation flights have already been scheduled and further options are being pursued to ensure the safe return of all Cypriots currently abroad.

“We call on them once again to register on the connectcy platform and to contact the Foreign Ministry’s Crisis Management call centre, which operates around the clock,” Letymbiotis said.
